![]() While this season has some excellent moments and interesting challenges, it also moves along at a slow pace. Although some cast members drag down the season, a handful of its contestants nevertheless shine through and provide some excellent gameplay to a fairly average season. With the success of the first Blood vs Water theme, this season looks promising but falls a little flat due to some poor casting choices.Fortunately, the rest of the cast provides some great entertainment, although some contestants desperately crave attention and act ridiculously to get it, which pushes gameplay to the side. Only one contestant in this one world deserved the million and the rest of the cast served merely as obstacles to that million. While twists and advantages often add great entertainment to a season, too much of them ruins the gameplay of strong contestants that do not need them. With a solid cast and strong gameplay, this season has the potential for a higher ranking, but some of its twists make viewers question whether production remained neutral in its support of the contestants.Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers (Season 35) While this transformation falls short in many areas, this season brings some new life to the game.ģ4. A season essentially designed for a returning player to win, this season has an overall weak cast, but it does redeem itself in that it ushers in a transition from Old School to New School by greatly mixing up how the game of Survivor is played.Although its old school nostalgia offers some fascinating moments, as well as a few impressive gameplay moves, even Jeff Probst admits that it lacks greatly in entertainment value, which explains why only 2 contestants ever returned for another season (one of them being among the best of the best Survivors, although he/she doesn’t really shine in this season). This season makes little attempt to entertain, and the local no-no bugs alone make for an uncomfortable experience for all.Like Edge of Extinction, this season follows after an amazing season before it, adding to the disappointment. However, some of the arguments and ridiculousness of the cast make it more entertaining than the other seasons ranked lower. ![]() The twists also fail, and there is an overwhelming amount of negativity from the cast. Production clearly did not learn from its mistake about recruiting, so this season has a pretty awful cast with little appreciation or gratitude for the show. While Fiji fails in a boring way, Nicaragua at least fails in a more exciting way.Since thousands of people audition and dream of being on the show, this is very disappointing and the boring cast proves why recruiting doesn’t work. Only ONE of the nineteen contestants auditioned for the show while all the others were recruited with little to no knowledge or appreciation of the game. Production drops the ball not with its failed twists, but with its terrible cast. While these failures sound interesting to watch, unfortunately they are not. Quite a hot mess of a season from before the season even begins! With a contestant quitting last minute before filming, this season struggles early on and then experiments with many twists and gimmicks which all ultimately fail. Not much stands out in this season, and even production was ready to move on, as the Reunion show spending little to no time on this season and most of its time introducing the cast for the next season ( Cambodia), which turned out to be amazing! Watch that season instead! This season has a lot of negativity in it with some bullies and other ungrateful contestants, which makes for a painful viewing experience at times. It’s always a bad sign when we spend the majority of a season worried about contestants winning that we don’t want to win rather than enjoying the cast and gameplay regardless. The season before this, however, I rank among the best, which makes this season very disappointing as this season squanders the amazing potential of this show with its failed twist and bad casting. Casting makes or breaks a season, and for this season, production chose primarily wacky contestants with minimal game potential in hopes of (unsuccessful) entertainment value. Named after perhaps the worst twist in Survivor’s history, watching this season feels like a waste of time because we rarely see or get to know the winner, and most viewers will find the remainder of the cast just as forgettable.
